In John’s Gospel Ch 20

Early on Sunday morning,a while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb and found that the stone had been rolled away from the entrance, ran to 3Peter and the other disciple started out for the tomb. 4They were both running, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first. 5He stooped and looked in and saw the linen wrappings lying there, but he didn’t go in. 6Then Simon Peter arrived and went inside. He also noticed the linen wrappings lying there, 7while the cloth that had covered Jesus’ head was folded up and lying apart from the other wrappings. 8Then the disciple who had reached the tomb first also went in, and he saw and believed— 9for until then they still hadn’t understood the Scriptures that said Jesus must rise from the dead. 10Then they went home.

19That Sunday eveningb the disciples were meeting behind locked doors because they were afraid of the Jewish leaders. Suddenly, Jesus was standing there among them! “Peace be with you,” he said. 20As he spoke, he showed them the wounds in his hands and his side. They were filled with joy when they saw the Lord! 21Again he said, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you.” 22Then he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. 23If you forgive anyone’s sins, they are forgiven. If you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.”

30The disciples saw Jesus do many other miraculous signs in addition to the ones recorded in this book. 31But these are written so that you may continue to believed that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing in him you will have life by the power of His name.

It’s real very real

In the Bible 1Cor5:7 For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed.

Jesus is the final Passover Lamb Crucified . As we read in the Old Testament, the Israelites in the feast sacrificed a lamb without blemish and sprinkled the blood over the door post of their house to symbolize cleansing and forgiveness.

On Good Friday the day of the Passover celebration It says in the gospel of John 19:14 it was the day of Preparation for the Passover, about the sixth hour. Jesus was crucified around 3.00pm He said “It is finished ” and died .

The Passover was a beautiful type of the Lord Jesus Christ. It’s an Old Testament picture of His death at Calvary . As we remember His Death, Burial & Resurrection we need to be reminded that Jesus our Passover Lamb went to the cross for our sins, that we could be reconciled to God and forgiven .

The Burial of Jesus

John19:38-44 Afterward, Joseph of Arimathea, who was a disciple of Jesus (but secretly for fear of the Jews), asked Pilate to let him remove the body of Jesus. Pilate gave him permission, so he came and removed His body. 39Nicodemus, who had previously come to Jesus at night, also brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about seventy-five pounds.d 40So they took the body of Jesus and wrapped it in linen cloths with the spices, according to the Jewish burial custom.

41Now there was a garden in the place where Jesus was crucified, and in the garden a new tomb in which no one had yet been laid. 42And because it was the Jewish day of Preparation and the tomb was nearby, they laid Jesus there.

If you call Him Lord are you doing the things He is calling you to do . Who is He . The second person of the Trinity. He was equal with God , gave up the form of God took upon himself the form of a servant and humbled himself to come down for you and me. Became obedient even unto the death of the cross. He gave up the form of God but didn’t give up the nature . He was 100% man and 100% God .When he came to earth leaving splendor majesty glory left everything , was outside a humble man but on the Inside the very nature of God . You have to find God to know who he is . We know Him for what he is done on the outside Healer miracle worker kind gentle filled with compassion but a true revelation is knowing him on the inside . What are you inside , we must do the work of God from the inside embrace his Word . The Bible says the word became flesh and dwelt among us , let us be the kind of people he is calling us to be and live as He lived and be a blessing to all around us to spouse , family, friends, children, loved ones , community and be a living example to your world around you
