Propitiation for us

My reading family in and around the world

It’s nice to be back talking to you again on what Christ has done for us . Apostle John in this Epistle writes to assurance of eternal life to those that believe on the name of the Son of God and His Redemptive Act

In The Bible 1John 2:1,2 My dear children, I am writing this to you so that you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate who pleads our case before the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who is truly righteous vs2 He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.

Romans3:25Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God

Propitiation through Christ’s blood. Although justification is the theme of this passage vs 25 clearly points out to the provision through faith in Christ blood. Propitiation has to do with manner in which the anger of an offended deity is appeased. In pagan religions it is believed that once a deity was offended, he vented his wrathful judgement in a harsh, punitive manner.

The God of the Bible is a holy, righteous, and loving God who desires to restore men and women to Himself without violating His eternal laws. The blood of Jesus Christ makes it possible for God to restore man back to Himself in love and at the same time removes the effects of sin , which caused the separation in the first place. Christ’s she’d blood provides the basis upon which our wholly righteous God bountifully extends His unfailing mercy to us. Jesus death serves as a propitiation for the sins of all mankind

Blessings
