Truth about Feelings

Dear family I felt prompted in my spirit to share what I read recently

1 John 3:20 – “God is greater than our feelings, and He knows everything.”

Have you ever gone from feeling total elation to feeling complete devastation? Feelings are fickle. Feelings follow the thoughts and opinions of the mind. You feel what you are thinking about and agreeing with at the moment. Thoughts and opinions from human reasoning are developed from the soul (mind, will, feelings) rather than the spirit (inner nature capable of connecting with God). Inwardly, the soul is at war with the spirit because you are born into a fallen world with a nature to sin that must be redeemed. Your spirit should always dominate your soul. When the soul dominates, you easily fall into deception and sin, generally acting out from the feelings in the moment only to realize later your feelings have changed to regret.

You must know the absolute Truth of God’s Word to settle thoughts and opinions accordingly in order to avoid the deception of a momentary compromise. Deception can be powerful. Remember, because of deception, one-third of the angels fell even though they were in the very presence of God. Daily you have the choice to believe the Word or believe the impulses of deception. God always has the better way! Always!

God’s way leads to success, happiness, and abundant life. He has a good plan with a future and hope (confidence in God). The realization of sin reveals the regret, hurt, and damage. 1 John 2:16 says, “For the world (of sin that opposes God and His precepts) offers only a craving (feeling) for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possession.”  This is a warning that the world only offers sin and sin earns regret, hurt, and damage. You can never have abundant life from sin.

Romans 12:2 states, “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.” Submit your feelings to God, ask for His opinions, and allow Him to transform your thinking. Changing the way you think changes the way you feel. Changing the way you feel changes the way you act. Changing the way you act changes your life

Person of ❤️ and Compassion

The love of God is True, perfect, unconditional, sacrificial, lasting , inspiring, forgiving found in Him. It’s not on our abilities or earned . His love was lavished on all mankind.

The holy Bible speaks of Gods very true love toward us and the life style that is pleasing to Him.

But you, O Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness.”  Psalm 86:15

Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”  John 15:13

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”  John 3:16

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

This is how God showed his love among us:  He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.  This is love:  not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.  Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. ”  1 John 4:9-11

The earth is filled with your love, O Lord…”  Psalm 119:64

Your love, O Lord, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies.  Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains, your justice like the great deep.”  Psalm 36:5-6

I would encourage you to live a life of love and compassion, caring for family, friends, spouse, school, college, and at work and around the people who you influence and those who look up to you. Be filled with His love and share all that God has done for you and me .

The commandments…are summed up in the one command, ‘Love your neighbor as you love yourself.’  If you love others, you will never do them wrong, to love, then, is to obey the whole Law.”  Romans 13:9-10

May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other…”  1 Thes. 3:12
