Call to Spiritual Warfare

In the Bible ,Paul the apostles writes his letter to the church while in Prison around AD 60,61 wrote the amazing mystery of Power to us as believers (people of God washed and saved by His Blood) I quote Ephesians 6:10-20 talks about The Armor of God

10Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. 11Put on the full armor of God, so that you can make your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this world’s darkness, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

13Therefore take up the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you will be able to stand your ground, and having done everything, to stand. 14Stand firm then, with the belt of truth fastened around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness arrayed, 15and with your feet fitted with the readiness of the gospel of peace. 16In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

18Pray in the Spirit at all times, with every kind of prayer and petition. To this end, stay alert with all perseverance in your prayers for all the saints. 19Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, divine utterance may be given me, so that I will boldly make known the mystery of the gospel, 20for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may proclaim it fearlessly, as I should

The metaphor here is based on the armour and battle dress of the first century Roman soldier. This shows to actively engage In battle now. Personal Faith that positions itself against evil and Aggressive Prayer warfare that assails demonic strongholds are two different facets of spiritual life.

This addresses the church as corporate warriors .You and me as individuals warriors.

Discerning between spiritual struggle and other social, personal and political difficulties. We sometimes detour and wrestle with human adversaries , instead of prayerfully war against the invisible works of hell behind the scenes. Our assignment is prayer warfare in order that evil will be driven back and the will of God advanced. All spiritual war waged today is victorious only on the basis of appropriating the provision of the Cross and Christ’s blood (Col 2:15)

The entire passage further supports to the perspectives ‘to stand against’ stand in front and oppose ‘wrestle’ engage in one-on-one combat ‘to stand ‘ stand for active battle ‘ and finally take stand for next battle.

It’s the believers call to spiritual warfare

The invisible conflict vs 10-12

Armor for the warrior vs 13-17

Actions in warfare vs 18-20

The holy scriptures gives us prophetic insight on the days ahead and battles to face . It’s only by Spiritual weapons of war can we overcome shortcomings, difficulties we face in our day to day living.

In conclusion Ephesians 3:16,17

16I pray that out of the riches of His glory He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being, 17so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and grounded in love .

Walk by faith and not by sight

Wage your Warfare and Victory is ours.

Words are Important Matthew 12:37 – “For by your words you will be justified, and by your side words you will be condemned.” Our words are important. The words we speak to our children and others can determine their destiny. We learn in Matthew 12:34, “…. for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.” Our words should be encouraging and uplifting. Ephesians 4:29 instructs, “Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.” The Bible has a great deal to say about the words we use. Proverbs 15:4 from the New Living Translation, “Gentle words are a tree of life; a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit.” Proverbs 18:4 – “The words of a man’s mouth are deep waters; The wellspring of wisdom is a flowing brook.” Proverbs 20:15 – “There is gold and a multitude of rubies, But the lips of knowledge are a precious jewel.” 1 Peter 3:10 – “For He who would love life And see good days, Let him refrain his tongue from evil, And his lips from speaking deceit.” Colossians 4:6 – “Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.” Proverbs 10:19 – “In the multitude of words sin is not lacking, But he who restrains his lips is wise.” Our words have the power to wound as well as the power to heal. Proverbs 15:1 says, “A soft answer turns away wrath, But a harsh word stirs up anger.” We can speak curses or blessings. The Apostle James writes in James 3:5, “So also the tongue is a small thing, but what enormous damage it can do. A great forest can be set on fire by one tiny spark” (The Living Bible). Our prayer should be the words of Psalms 141:3, “Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips.” We must realize the importance and power of the words we speak

Propitiation for us

My reading family in and around the world

It’s nice to be back talking to you again on what Christ has done for us . Apostle John in this Epistle writes to assurance of eternal life to those that believe on the name of the Son of God and His Redemptive Act

In The Bible 1John 2:1,2 My dear children, I am writing this to you so that you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate who pleads our case before the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who is truly righteous vs2 He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.

Romans3:25Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God

Propitiation through Christ’s blood. Although justification is the theme of this passage vs 25 clearly points out to the provision through faith in Christ blood. Propitiation has to do with manner in which the anger of an offended deity is appeased. In pagan religions it is believed that once a deity was offended, he vented his wrathful judgement in a harsh, punitive manner.

The God of the Bible is a holy, righteous, and loving God who desires to restore men and women to Himself without violating His eternal laws. The blood of Jesus Christ makes it possible for God to restore man back to Himself in love and at the same time removes the effects of sin , which caused the separation in the first place. Christ’s she’d blood provides the basis upon which our wholly righteous God bountifully extends His unfailing mercy to us. Jesus death serves as a propitiation for the sins of all mankind

Practical Living with Gods word

Dear friends there is some inspiration in and thru Gods word for practical living

We are not alienated because of this. Real life , joy and peace and guidance you can count on .

In the bible Psalm 119:105 “thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path”

We are all inexperienced in life to be without a guide. Gods word is that guide. Here it shows the word will assist in life’s most practical circumstances. The word lights the way , giving direction for each step (to my feet) and giving wisdom for long-range plans (to my path). When the word is applied to our lives it guides to the fullest .

In Proverbs 6:22 “when you thou (goest ), it shall lead thee, when thou( sleepest )it shall keep thee, when thou (awakest )it shall talk with thee “.

This is assurance when the word of God is pre-eminence in our lives it leads you, keeps you , talks to you.

Furthermore in vs23 ” For the commandments is a lamp, and the law is light, and reproofs of instruction are the way of life ”

it reminds us that the reproofs or corrections the Bible gives are as much a part of the ‘light’ it provides as any positive or confirming direction we can find.

In Psalm 19:7 “The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul, the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple”

Final assurance , the word of God is ‘perfect , trustworthy, absolute, complete in its entirety of the holy scriptures. The Bible is unfailing as an absolutely trustworthy guide for our faith (belief in God) . This is so because God is true. His word reveals His truth for our Practical living.

Blessings
