Joshua’s Act

Book of Joshua 10:12,13 On the day the LORD gave the Amorites over to Israel, Joshua said to the LORD in the presence of Israel: “Sun, stand still over Gibeon, and you, moon, over the Valley of Aijalon.” So the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, till the nation avenged itself on its enemies, as it is written in the Book of Jashar. The sun stopped in the middle of the sky and delayed going down about a full day.

To speak of an event too good to be true as many argue , a heathen writers book of Jashar was written and made public before Joshua wrote his history and is therefore properly alluded to here. It was probably a collection of wars, poems and giving account of the miracle. It seems down the ages this book has been lost by the Jews and not preserved with care as their inspired writings.

The event is a conquest of Joshua and Israel saving Gibeon from the Amorites onslaught . The battle raged and running out of sunlight Joshua prayed to the Lord of the Universe and declared by an Act of Faith “Sun, stop over Gibeon. Moon, stand still over the valley of Aijalon” (Joshua 10:12). And as our verse makes clear, the sun and the moon did stop on their courses through the heavens until the conquest was completed.

As we read this in the Old Testament we are reminded in the New what Jesus said in Mark 11:22-24 22“Have faith in God,” Jesus said to them.23“Truly I tell you that if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and has no doubt in his heart but believes that it will happen, it will be done for him. 24Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

Miracles that happened to Joshua should not be limited to happening in the past but be part of the present life we have in Christ. Walking in Christ’s will and in His Spirit , amazing things happen in your lives. Your spoken Faith will rise up within you to alter the heavens and move mountains. Nothing can stop the Lord from performing his work , when He decides to move through our faith.

Your life’s journey on earth meets with many Amorite battles and obstacles like the sun and moon as it was for Joshua. Remember the faith God has given to you and in you will rise up like it did for Joshua and speak and declare the word that will change everything.

Joseph and his fetters

This day and age it’s not common to hear or speak about fetters. However common with reference to the Old Testament. Prisoners were bound at their ankles with heavy iron or metal rings that hurt , primarily to restrain .

Shackles for the feet. It is said of Joseph that his feet were hurt with fetters (Psa. 105:18 18Whose feet they hurt with fetters: he was laid in iron: (Psalm 105:18)). They are spoken of as being made of brass and of iron, fetter suggests a restraining so severe that freedom to move or progress is almost lost. Reading vs 17 through 21 . 17He sent a man before them—Joseph—who was sold as a slave.18They hurt his feet with fetters,a]He was laid in irons.
19Until the time that his word came to pass,
The word of the Lord tested him.20The king sent and released him,The ruler of the people let him go free.21He made him lord of his house,And ruler of all his possessions,

In the New Testament context, the fetters that Hurt the heart of God is Sin. We are bound in fetters of varying degrees. Grief , shame, dejections, failures, hurt, grudges, addictions, unforgivable, the list can go on . With rings and rings of fetters bound and restrained heading to death and destruction of our mortal bodies.and soul to eternal condemnation,. Heading to hell and eternal destruction as the Bible says.

Your time for freedom and breakthrough is here . Jesus was victorious over sin , death and eternal destruction on the death of the cross and rose seated at the right hand of God interceding for us . Your king Jesus is willing to set you free . Only Commit and surrender and accept Him into your life as the forgiver of your sin to set you free and this was already done 2000 years ago .

No more Fetters and shackles. Live in freedom through Christ Jesus our Savior and Lord

A prayer of repentance and accepting Jesus as the Lord of your life can be done by a simple prayer, wherever you are and experience the break through. if you have said this prayer welcome to the family of God. Join a local church to further your walk in Christ.

His will for me -Pray

Dearly beloved readers today let’s focus our time on the verse in Gospel of Matt ch 7 : 7,8 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened

The time we wake from bed to going back to bed , we are constantly faced with decisions and challenges. We run into choices for the moment, choices made for the past and finally choices for the future.

May our lives be complete on this foundation of truth in his word.

Pray and Ask , it shall be given to you , may this flow from your heart. Get into the habit of Asking God our father for His guidance and favor in our decisions and choices .

Pray and Seek , you shall find, seeking Him alone. The treasure of heaven ( spiritual breakthroughs) poured into your life.

Pray and Knock, it shall be opened. We are knocking for the windows of heaven , our eyes opened to see and receive blessings.

Gods word always operates in principles. We make an effort in Prayer . Vs8 follows by saying “Everyone” not a few chosen. There is nothing to prequalify in Prayer. A forgiven, blood washed believer in Christ has a right through Christ to approach the throne of God the father.

Everyone who Asks receives . Everyone who seeks finds. Everyone who knocks be opened.

This is my life and should be our life style

Risk with God

Dearly beloved readers I was impressed in my heart by the Holy Spirt to share what I recently read .

If and when you pursue your God given potential , you will find yourself in circumstances and situations that require decisions and directions. The ultimate truth is the infinite God who we serve sees beyond , knows all is hard to comprehend with our finite mind .

When we trust God in all things, choices, relationships, decisions and beyond a significant amount of risk is involved . The very nature of risk is Faith.

Our belief in God who we cannot see but experience.

Our faith in his promises to work to our benefit, even when we cannot understand that which has to occur to get us from the current to where we hope to be .

Our faith in the love of Christ to transform us in ways we cannot imagine or expect .

Let me bring you to memory the greatest risk taker of all time. Jesus after his miracle of feeding the 5000 with 5 loaves of bread and two fishes went up to the mountain to pray . The disciples were to meet Jesus on the other side of the Sea of Galilee.

In the gospel of Matt 14:24-28 we read . In the fourth watch of the night, the sea being rough tossed the boat the disciples were in. Jesus went to them walking on the water. The disciples fear being a ghost. Jesus speaks be not afraid . Peter answers Lord if it is you. command me to come to you on the water. Jesus bid him come and immediately Peter stepped on the water to go to Jesus. That day of all the disciples only Peter Risked everything, leaves his boat ( signifies our current circumstances and situations) and walks in Faith towards Jesus. The only person besides Jesus to walk on water. Would you have been willing to take that Risk?

After Jesus ascended into heaven. This experience of Peter I believe would have deepened his faith and boldness to exercise this faith to greater risks . From our perspective what we see as risk of loss or damage. When our Faith in Him , to break free. God strengthens our character and Faith to overcome. It’s worth the Risk in God .
